Support Scouting

Give to East Texas Scouting

Registration fees cover a fraction of what it costs to deliver Scouting across 17 counties. The rest comes from families, alumni, businesses and communities here at home.

Ways to support

Friends of Scouting

The council's annual giving campaign. It underwrites camp maintenance, leader training, background checks, insurance and the professional staff who serve the districts.

Popcorn

The autumn sale is how most Scouts earn their own way to summer camp. Buying from a Scout at a storefront sends money straight back to that unit and to the council.

Camp cards

A spring fundraiser of discount cards for local businesses. Scouts keep a share of every card sold, which for many families covers camp outright.

Camp Pirtle

The G.W. Pirtle Scout Reservation has served Scouts since 1964 and carries the running costs of any working camp — roofs, waterfront, dining hall, ranges and vehicles. Gifts directed to the camp are handled through the camp's own site.

How to give

Online giving runs through the council's event and donation system. For Friends of Scouting pledges, memorial gifts, gifts of stock, or including Scouting in your will, speak to the council directly — those are handled personally rather than through a web form.

Please confirm before you give. This is a volunteer-run site and cannot accept donations itself. Make gifts directly to the East Texas Area Council, and contact the service center to confirm that a link or campaign is current.
